At Rural Brewing Co., we believe that beer has the power to bring people together. We set out on a journey to craft brews that not only tantalise the taste buds but also inspire a connection with the adventurous spirit within us all.

About Our Head Brewer

A proud son of Alton, Rob personifies the spirit of our hometown. His career started at Alton Towers, an experience that taught him the ropes of customer relations. After working at The Towers over a period of three years he pursued his passion for the great outdoors, immersing himself in various local businesses, putting his love for adventure into practice, most recently at the bike shop.

Rob is a big part of the local community, working with local groups and events like “Alton Apple Day” and “Alton Fun Run”. A big lover of beer, his passion was first fermented in the garden shed, which would eventually give birth to Rural Brew.

Our Story

2021

From stable to brewery

Nick and Rob put some initial investment and a lot of elbow grease into renovating Rob's shed. Then they got to work, brewing up small test batches until they hit the magic recipe.

2022

Pale Ale is born

After many rounds of brewing and taste-testing, they finally created their signature Pale Ale. It was a hit, becoming a staple in their core range and the first to make its debut at the local White Hart pub.

2023

Core Range

The Rural beer family expanded significantly, introducing an American Pale Ale in May 2022, a Pale Ale in June, an IPA in September, a robust Best Bitter in November, and a refreshing lager joining the scene in May 2023.

Alton Towers Collaboration

In September 2023, Rural Brewing Co. partnered with Alton Towers to create a bespoke, co-branded lager named 'Laugh & Scream.' First introduced during their Oktoberfest celebration, it quickly became a park favourite, now available throughout Alton Towers’ various venues and hotels.

Building the brewery

The Brewery Gets a Facelift: Rob, with the indispensable aid of friends and family, expanded his shed to double its original size this year. This renovation not only enhances our brewing capacity but also paves the way for extending our core range and experimenting with special edition brews, fueling our creative spirits even further.

2024

Nemesis Reborn Collaboration

Coinciding with Alton Towers' thrilling launch of the Nemesis Reborn ride, Rural Brewing Co. crafted a limited run of 1000 special edition cans. Dubbed Nemesis Nectar, this unique take on our Laugh & Scream lager was exclusively available during the ride's launch weekend and swiftly sold out.

A Year of Expansion and Collabs

Looking ahead, we’re set for a landmark year. We’re thrilled to be working with Live Tour Promotions, who will sell our beer at a number of events across the country. Plus, our beers will continue to be available at even more bars in Alton Towers. Alongside expanding our range, we continue to work closely with our trusted trade customers to bring new, exciting brews to our community.
